GlycoNex Named Emerging Company of the Year at the 2026 Taiwan BIO Awards

The Taiwan Bio Industry Organization recognized GlycoNex’s platform-based R&D model and international licensing strategy, as its ADC, biosimilar and CDMO businesses move from development into value realization.

NEW TAIPEI CITY, Taiwan — July 16, 2026 — GlycoNex, Inc. (TWO:4168) today announced that it has been named Emerging Company of the Year at the 2026 Taiwan BIO Awards, presented by the Taiwan Bio Industry Organization. The award recognizes the technology innovation and international collaboration GlycoNex has accumulated over more than two decades.

The Taiwan BIO Awards are conferred annually by the Taiwan Bio Industry Organization following a multi-stage review by a panel drawn from industry, government and academia. Twenty-three companies and technologies were recognized across four award categories this year. GlycoNex was one of six recipients in this category, which recognizes established biotechnology companies — rather than early-stage startups, which are recognized under a separate category — that demonstrate substantial growth potential. GlycoNex was cited for its sustained development of antibody therapeutics, ADCs and biosimilars, for its platform-based R&D model, and for accelerating international collaboration and licensing. Awards were presented during BIO Asia–Taiwan 2026 in Taipei.

The recognition comes as GlycoNex’s three core business areas — innovative drug development, biosimilars, and contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) — move into clinical development, regulatory filing and commercial collaboration respectively, shifting the company’s operational focus from R&D investment toward value realization. Across the three areas, GlycoNex builds growth on a combination of licensing partnerships, product commercialization, milestone income and manufacturing services.

In innovative drug development, GNX1021 — the company’s first ADC, directed at gastrointestinal cancers — has advanced into Phase 1, carrying the program from a preclinical asset to a clinical-stage candidate with international licensing value and opening the way to licensing and milestone income. International pharmaceutical companies are evaluating the program and following subsequent clinical data. GlycoNex is co-developing GNX201-ADC with Nippon Kayaku Co., Ltd., and continues to advance GNX203 and other next-generation antibody therapeutics while reinforcing its global patent position through continued filings.

In biosimilars, the denosumab biosimilar SPD8 has completed its Phase 3 trial, and Japan commercialization rights have been out-licensed; GlycoNex plans to submit a Biologics License Application to Japan’s PMDA in the third quarter of 2026. Regional licensing discussions and commercial preparation are underway, which are expected to support milestone payments and revenue sharing. The company has also initiated a second biosimilar program addressing an immune-mediated disease, extending the portfolio and building momentum for the next stage of growth in line with Taiwan’s policy objective of domestic manufacture of essential medicines, which strengthens local supply of critical biologics.

In CDMO, GlycoNex operates a GMP-compliant antibody manufacturing platform with multiple domestic and international programs currently underway. As project count and service scope expand, CDMO is expected to become a stable source of revenue.

This honor belongs to the whole team, and it reflects that the R&D, manufacturing and international collaboration capabilities we have built over many years are being converted into concrete commercial value. Going forward, we will accelerate GNX1021 clinical development, the SPD8 regulatory filing and our global licensing strategy, while expanding the scale of our CDMO collaborations — building a diversified growth engine that runs on licensing income, product revenue and manufacturing services in parallel, and carrying the company into its next stage of operational growth.
